Message from the Executive Director: What does Interval House look like? I can’t tell you precisely because I want the residents and staff to remain safe. However, the drawng above is how it was envisioned by a child who lived here for awhile. We have used this image as our logo for the past few years. At Interval House we have a garden children can play in; an indoor playroom when the weather is unsuitable for outside activities; a youth room for older games; a kitchen with plenty of room to prepare and share meals for all of the residents; a living room where women gather to talk and have fun; and a space for women to have quiet time to think, plan and pray. This year we have also added a gazebo, which allows our residents to enjoy the fresh air without fear of being seen. The rest of the house is made up of bedrooms, offices and support areas to fulfil the various needs of our residents. What does Interval House feel like? It is a loving, sunny place. Some days there are tears and some days there is laughter and on most days there is both, but most of all Interval House is a place where families in transition—from all faiths and ethnic groups—can build lasting friendships and feel safe, secure and supported.
