Winter may be just around the corner, but we’re already planning our springtime activities with IHO! In May 2016, I will again be participating in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge at the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. I will be running 10k to raise awareness of violence against women and raise money for IHO. Many Board members and staff will be joining us to run, or walk, for awareness and support of the services we provide to women and their children fleeing violence, and we want you to join us!
You can register to run, or walk, in the event and make a donation or fundraise for IHO. The participants running with IHO will be provided with sports shirts with our logo and the slogan “running to end violence against women” so that we can raise awareness during the race.
But you don’t have to join me in running 10k. On Saturday May 28 there are also events for 2k and 5k, and on Sunday May 29 there is a kids’ marathon, ½ marathon, and full marathon. You can register to run or walk with us, or with your own family and friends. If you’d rather not participate, you can always still donate to a runner and support an end to violence against women.
We hope you’ll join us to enjoy a spring day together in May while we bring awareness to violence against women in Canada and our community.
