Helen Johnson* Matching Campaign 2022

Helen Johnson* offers to match all donations made to IHO up to $50, 000 before the end of 2022!

Back in June, Helen Johnson* came to IHO and offered to match all donations until the end of the year up to $50, 000. At 92 years old, she has had many years of working closely with local Ottawa charities to support individuals and families in need. Helen felt that helping survivors of violence and their families & pets was a worthy cause and one she wanted to wholeheartedly support.

Helen’s intention was to leave her gift to IHO in her will but realized that she wouldn’t be able to see the tangible impact that her generous contribution would make for survivors of violence in the Ottawa community.

Therefore, to ensure that she sees her contribution bring positive change and that it has been pushed to its full impact, Helen has offered to match all donations made to IHO up to $50, 000.

We have already raised $21, 500 since that time.

Until the end of 2022, Interval House of Ottawa and Helen Johnson are working together to raise funds that provide survivors of violence with safe shelter and support services to help rebuild their lives, free from violence and abuse. With the housing and homelessness state of emergency in Ottawa, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the increase in femicides in our community, our services are needed now more than ever.

IHO and Helen Johnson believe that no woman should have to choose between personal safety or having a place to call home. You can help us provide survivors and their families & pets with safe shelter and support services to get them back on their feet. Are you with us?

Almost $22, 000 has been collected offline before today. Thank you to all of those who have already donated to the Helen Johnson campaign. We have such incredible donors and community members that are committed to supporting survivors of violence and their families in our community. You enable IHO to provide much-needed services to survivors as well as continue our work for gender-based violence prevention efforts and advocacy! THANK YOU!
